A site-specific commission can begin with a source that carries particular meaning for a place, organisation or community — a text, name, story, historical reference, cultural source or other selected material — and transform its underlying Visual DNA into a contemporary spatial composition.
The resulting work can be developed at architectural scale and interpreted through materials, fabrication and installation methods appropriate to its environment.

Yona encodes the chosen source into a distinct visual form. The resulting artwork is then envisioned across different scales, materials and spatial applications, exploring how the same visual identity can enter into dialogue with architecture and its surrounding environment.

Yona creates and develops the artwork, while fabrication is entrusted to specialist professionals experienced in the selected materials and processes, as agreed with the client and according to the requirements of each project.
