Maamme – Suomi Anthem I is an abstract visual encoding of Finland’s national anthem. Through Yona Roöri’s symbolic method, the anthem’s text is dissolved into a vertical sequence of glowing blue-violet forms — at once cloud-like and cosmic, evoking both collective memory and transcendence.

The shifting light recalls the auroral glow of the Northern Lights, a natural rhythm that shaped Yona Roöri’s childhood. Here, the anthem is reimagined not as words to be sung, but as energy embodied in rhythm and illumination — a remembrance of nation and nature intertwined.
